Lago di Garda is undoubtedly one of the most popular destinations for holidays, not just for cycling. There is plenty of accommodation in Garda, but today I have a tip for a pleasant boutique hotel that we have personally verified. We went with our first impression and were tempted to stay in a family-run boutique hotel with an incredible view of the lake, mountains and the town of Riva del Garda.

The idea of going to Garda with our friends at the end of September this year had been on my vacationer’s mind for almost a month. However, the weather forecast was not so appealing at first, so we waited until the last minute to see if it would improve and the outlook for our planned weekend would improve. And it did.

No private accommodation appealed to me this time, but there were plenty of nice hotels in the town of Riva del Garda. Our condition was that the hotel also offered a rich breakfast, including a gluten-free one, and that it was something special.

Accommodation in Garda
In the end, we had two accommodations in Garda to choose from. A hotel in the busy city center, which also offered a small wellness area, and then family accommodation among olive groves, on a hill under the rocks. Both accommodations are in close proximity to cycle paths.
Given that someone had booked all the available rooms in the first hotel for the date we requested, our clear choice was this family boutique hotel with a breathtaking view of the surrounding area. It offered a view from breakfast, from the edge of the terrace to the center of Riva and Lake Garda, and from the balcony to Arco Castle, towering on a high rock. From the town of the same name, the castle is accessible for a few euros and the view here is available in good weather to the entire surrounding area.

Family hotels, away from the main tourist traffic, are always our favorite choice and, given that the family only started offering rooms for rent here a year ago, everything is new and modern. In addition, you have a sense of privacy while maintaining a high level of service.
The only initial disadvantage compared to other accommodations in Garda directly by the lake may seem to be the narrow road leading from the main road through the local cycle paths (often guests overlook it for the first time and drive a few km through the tunnel – we did too), but after the second ride you already know where to go and you also count on the fact that when you meet another car, one of you simply has to back up.

In any case, there are countless more advantages that accommodation in Garda offers you. From the pleasant communication with the owner, Anike, who is helpful to you at any time throughout your stay, to the modern and functionally equipped rooms, which still smell new thanks to their age. Vacationers who come here for sports will certainly appreciate the high-quality mattresses on the beds.
Of course, there is also a separately lockable garage for bicycles and other sports equipment. The connection to the mountain bike trail is right in front of the accommodation gate. The connection to the route to the mountain lake Tenno is ideal.

Depending on the season in which you come here, fresh fruit from local orchards will always be waiting for you to taste in front of the entrance to the reception. During our stay here there were families with children and couples with small dogs, for whom accommodation in Garda above the town of Riva del Garda is also suitable. In addition, the owners can advise you on trips and recommend a few-minute hike to a nearby restaurant on the hill.
Even my gluten-free friends will not be disappointed. They will feel like they are in paradise at breakfast when Anike bakes fresh baguettes in the morning and brings ready-made gluten-free menu of cookies, cornflakes and small sweet cakes. Not to mention the selection of Italian salami, ham and Tyrolean bacon. In addition, you can enjoy fruit juice, fresh fruit and plenty of nuts and mixtures for yogurt every day.
And those of you who don’t have to follow a gluten-free diet will surely enjoy some cake or croissant with your morning coffee or tea. The selection of glutenous pastries is also sufficient here. In good weather, you can have breakfast outside on the terrace, from where you also have a view of Riva and Lake Garda, lined with high cliffs.

So, if you are considering visiting the Riva del Garda area and prefer quieter accommodation with a view, we would like to recommend this family boutique hotel:
