And those Skopelos beaches! You&#8217;ll find three ports here: Skopelos (Chora), Agnontas, and Glossa (Loutraki). Keep this in mind when booking your ferry and renting a car at the port. We even visited a few beaches several times. Places known from the movie Mamma Mia are well marked on the map. However, some beaches we discovered by chance don&#8217;t even have a name, so I&#8217;m just adding photos and maybe you&#8217;ll come across them while wandering the island too. Glisteri Beach<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"117\" data-end=\"316\">A quiet pebble bay in the northeast of the island with crystal clear water and pine trees reaching down to the sea. Thanks to its intimate atmosphere and beach bar, it&#8217;s ideal for a relaxing day away from the main tourist rush. The beach is small in size, but outside the season there aren&#8217;t many people, and because it&#8217;s tucked away in a bay, it&#8217;s less windy. You can get here from the port by car in about 10 minutes.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"318\" data-end=\"321\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"323\" data-end=\"340\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Agnontas\"><\/span>2. Agnontas<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"341\" data-end=\"507\">A picturesque fishing village on the southwest coast with emerald water and traditional taverns. A great place for swimming and a slow lunch of fresh fish at sunset.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"512\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"514\" data-end=\"539\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_Amarandos_Cove_%E2%80%93_Skopelos_Island\"><\/span>3. Amarandos Cove &#8211; Skopelos Island<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"745\">I recommend not missing this place! A wild rocky coastline with iconic pine trees growing out of the rock and crystal clear water. A popular spot for snorkeling, photography, and lovers of movie scenery (Mamma Mia! was filmed here). Monastery of Agios Riginos<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"967\">A peaceful place dedicated to the island&#8217;s patron saint, located in the hills above Skopelos Town. It has historical significance for the island and offers a quiet atmosphere with views of the surrounding landscape.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"972\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"974\" data-end=\"989\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"5_Glossa_%E2%80%93_Skopelos_Island\"><\/span>5. Glossa &#8211; Skopelos Island<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"990\" data-end=\"1180\">A mountain village in the northwest of the island with an authentic atmosphere and beautiful sunsets. Narrow stone streets, white houses, and a view of Loutraki port give the impression that time has stood still here.<\/p>\n<hr data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1185\" \/>\n<h3 data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1216\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"6_Church_of_Agios_Ioannis\"><\/span>6. Church of Agios Ioannis<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1400\">Another of those beautiful places I definitely recommend visiting on Skopelos. A small white chapel on a rocky cliff above the Aegean Sea, accessible by a steep staircase. One of the most photogenic spots on the island, also made famous by the movie Mamma Mia!, with breathtaking panoramas.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dovolenkarka.cz\/en\/skopelos-island-what-to-see\/screenshot-201\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-15169\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15169\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dovolenkarka.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG_6932.jpeg\" alt=\"Skopelos beaches\" width=\"1169\" height=\"814\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.dovolenkarka.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG_6932.jpeg 1169w, https:\/\/www.dovolenkarka.cz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG_6932-768x534.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1169px) 100vw, 1169px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1217\" data-end=\"1400\">I recommend going in the morning and then finding a nearby beach for swimming. We even found our own cave where we hid comfortably from the sun during midday. There are 106 steps carved into the rock leading to the viewpoint. Look forward to an authentic Greek atmosphere and beautiful views of the harbor. It&#8217;s easily accessible, so expect more people in high season. There is a flight connection to neighboring Skiathos, with flights from Athens, and in the summer season also from Thessaloniki, plus international charter flights. As I wrote, we flew from Prague to Skiathos in early June and then took the ferry to Skopelos. For me, it&#8217;s the easiest route.
