You&#8217;ll find marble squares, narrow stone alleys, and many historic buildings that are worth exploring beyond just their facades. It&#8217;s not enough to just walk through; it&#8217;s better to take your time and enjoy the individual corners and smaller squares off the main tourist path.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"6mh0my\" data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"788\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"2_Go_up_to_Mount_Srd\"><\/span>2. Go up to Mount Sr\u0111<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"790\" data-end=\"1114\">Mount Sr\u0111 rises directly above the city and offers one of the best views of Dubrovnik, the walls, and the surrounding islands. You can get to the top by cable car or on foot, with the hike taking about two hours round trip in my experience. It&#8217;s most beautiful in the late afternoon when the historic center is bathed in warm hues and the sea below looks even more vibrant.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1aj5l0m\" data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1163\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_See_Dubrovnik_from_the_sea_by_boat_or_kayak\"><\/span>3. See Dubrovnik from the sea by boat or kayak<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"1165\" data-end=\"1438\">The view of Dubrovnik&#8217;s walls from the sea level has a completely different dimension than from land. A boat, or more affordably a kayak, allows you to see the city from the outside, paddle along the rocky coast, and reach places that aren&#8217;t easily accessible otherwise. Popular stops include Cave Beach or smaller caves and coves nearby. We easily rented kayaks right by the small beach where you set off.
