If you’re thinking about where to go on trips at Lake Attersee, there are more than enough options, from short stops by the lake to full-day excursions in the surrounding area. Right by the lake, I recommend visiting Kammer am Attersee with its castle, promenade, and lovely views of the northern part of Lake Attersee.
Just a short distance away lies Mondsee, a popular town by another beautiful lake, where you can stroll through the historic center, visit the basilica, or enjoy a swim.
Traunsee, with the elegant town of Gmunden, the Ort Castle on the water, and views of the Traunstein mountain, is also worth a trip.
If you want to head out for a city atmosphere, cafes, and sights, you can also easily plan a trip to Salzburg from Lake Attersee.
Another tip could be the area around Wolfgangsee or Bad Ischl, where you can combine alpine views, a spa atmosphere, and other beautiful places in the Salzkammergut.
