Seychelles Itinerary: 13 Days Across La Digue, Praslin, and Mahé
Planning a trip to the Seychelles without a travel agency? Do you want to explore the three most famous Seychelles islands during one vacation and experience several different types of accommodation? I have put together the following Seychelles itinerary for you based on my own rules, combining four nights in an affordable apartment on La Digue, four nights in a smaller hotel with half board on Praslin, and three nights in a luxury resort on Mahé. It covers a total of 13 days and 12 nights.
> Use this Seychelles itinerary as a template and adjust it according to your actual number of nights and flight tickets.

The order of La Digue – Praslin – Mahé has one big advantage. You start your vacation on a peaceful island where you’ll mostly get around by bike or on foot, then move to Praslin for excursions and nature, and spend the final days relaxing in a high-quality resort on Mahé. Staying on the main island at the end also reduces the risk of complications before flying home. I always choose it this way to be sure we make it to the airport even if the ferries from the other islands aren’t running.
Find your own accommodation in the Seychelles – La Digue on the map:
Seychelles Itinerary: 13-Day Breakdown
- La Digue: 4 nights – Chez Mera Self Catering, no meals
- Praslin: 4 nights – Les Lauriers Eco Hotel, half board
- Mahé: 4 nights – Constance Ephelia, half board
It is not necessary to rent a car on the islands. You can use taxis for transfers between the airport, ports, and accommodation; on Praslin, you can travel cheaply by bus, and on La Digue, the main means of transport is a bicycle. Ferries run between the islands. You can find more about transport in my previous guide:

- 5 Tips for Accommodation on La Digue
Day 1: Arrival on Mahé and Journey to La Digue
After arriving at the international airport on Mahé, take a taxi to the port in Victoria, where ferries depart for Praslin and La Digue. Some connections continue to La Digue via Praslin. Plan your flight and connecting ferry with a sufficient time buffer. If you arrive late in the afternoon or evening, you may need to spend the first night on Mahé and push the program back by one day. That’s why I personally choose morning arrivals for an independent Seychelles itinerary.

On La Digue, stay for example at the budget-friendly Chez Mera Self Catering, where my itinerary counts on four nights. It is simple, clean, and affordable accommodation with a kitchenette and a garden. Upon arrival, you can rent bikes right away, which you will use every day during your stay; we paid 6 EUR per day when booking for the entire stay.
Day 2: L’Union Estate and Anse Source d’Argent
Spend your first full day in the most famous part of La Digue. From the La Passe area, cycle to the L’Union Estate grounds and then to Anse Source d’Argent beach, made famous by its light granite boulders, shallow sea, and small sandy coves.
Ideally, head out in the morning when the beach isn’t as crowded yet. You can stay for several hours, walk through the individual coves, and swim or snorkel depending on the conditions. In the afternoon, return to La Passe, buy breakfast for the next day, and go for dinner at one of the local spots or get a take-away.

Day 3: Grand Anse, Petite Anse, and Anse Cocos
Plan your second bike trip to the east coast. You can reach Grand Anse beach via the road through the island’s interior. From there, you can continue on foot to the neighboring Petite Anse and further to Anse Cocos. Take plenty of water and sturdy shoes for the trip, as part of the route leads along forest paths and over granite rocks.

These beaches feel wilder than Anse Source d’Argent, and strong winds can create large waves and dangerous currents. Therefore, always adapt your swimming to the current conditions. On La Digue, you don’t have to deal with expensive restaurants three times a day; you can have a juice or a small snack during the day and use local take-aways in the evening.

Day 4: North La Digue and a Relaxing Day
Relax on your last full day on La Digue. Cycle from La Passe to Anse Sévère and Anse Patates beaches and continue along the north coast as far as the path and weather allow. You can combine the trip with snorkeling, a stop for fresh juice, or a return to one of the beaches you liked most during the previous days.

Chez Mera does not have its own restaurant or catering. Therefore, you can buy pastries at the bakery in the morning, choose a light snack during the day, and bring food back with you for dinner. This way of eating will also help you keep your costs on La Digue under control.

Day 5: Ferry from La Digue to Praslin
After breakfast, return the bikes and head to the port. The crossing from La Digue to Praslin is short. Upon arrival at Baie Sainte Anne port, continue by taxi to Les Lauriers Eco Hotel, located in the Côte d’Or area near Anse Volbert beach.
You will spend four nights at the hotel with half board. Breakfast is served buffet-style. In the evening, guests receive bread with a dip and then choose from a three-course menu. A Creole buffet was also held twice a week, which is one of the hotel’s biggest gastronomic attractions. It’s worth finding out which days the buffet is held during your stay and adjusting your dates accordingly.

Day 6: Vallée de Mai and Anse Volbert Beach
Renting a car is not essential on Praslin. Local buses are cheap and will take you to many of the most important places. In the budget, I count all bus rides during the stay at approximately 5 euros per person. However, if you want comfort and don’t want to wait for the bus, rent a car after all. Keep in mind you’ll be driving on the left.

In the morning, visit the Vallée de Mai nature reserve, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site, or Fond Ferdinand. You’ll walk through an original palm forest where the endemic coco de mer palm grows, featuring the largest seeds in the world. After returning to the Côte d’Or area, you can spend the rest of the day on the long Anse Volbert beach, which lies near the hotel.

Day 7: Trip to Curieuse Island and Snorkeling
Reserve one day for a boat trip from Praslin. Among the most popular options is combining Curieuse Island, where giant tortoises live freely, with snorkeling near the islet of St. Pierre. Trips usually depart from the Côte d’Or area, so you can easily reach the departure point on foot from the hotel.
The specific program varies by operator and weather. Some options also include lunch on the beach, snorkeling equipment, and entry fees, while for others, some services are paid separately. Therefore, check the conditions before booking.
Day 8: Anse Lazio and Free Afternoon / Seychelles Itinerary
Spend your last day on Praslin at Anse Lazio beach or take a trip to Anse Georgette beach, which are among the most famous places in the entire Seychelles. You’ll find light sand, crystal clear sea, and typical granite rocks. You can go by bus and walk the last part of the way, or order a taxi.
To get to Anse Georgette, you need to take a moderately difficult trek from Anse Lazio, or arrange free entry through the Constance Lemuria resort. In both cases, I recommend sturdy shoes, a head covering, and plenty of fluids and a snack for the journey.

In the afternoon, return to Les Lauriers, relax by the pool, or take another walk along Anse Volbert. If the Creole buffet falls on this evening, leave plenty of time for dinner; the local cuisine is one of the main reasons to include this accommodation in your independent Seychelles itinerary.
Day 9: From Praslin to Mahé and Accommodation at Constance Ephelia
In the morning or forenoon, take a taxi to the port and return to Mahé by ferry. From the port, continue by taxi or rented car to the Port Launay area on the west coast, where the luxury resort Constance Ephelia is located.

Constance Ephelia
The last three nights are intentionally planned in more comfortable accommodation with half board. The resort is spread across an extensive tropical garden between two beaches and offers several pools, restaurants, sports facilities, and a large wellness center. After arrival, there’s no need to plan further trips. Check in, walk through the grounds, and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

Day 10: Beaches and Water Activities in Port Launay
Stay at the resort all day and take advantage of its location by the Port Launay Marine Park. Alternate between both hotel beaches, snorkeling, and relaxing by the pool. Kayaks, paddleboats, small sailboats, windsurfing, and other activities are also available.
Some non-motorized water sports were included in the price of the stay, while diving, yoga lessons, ziplining, and some organized programs are usually paid separately. The offer and conditions may change, so check in advance which activities are free during your stay.
Day 11: Relaxing at Constance Ephelia / Seychelles Itinerary
You can also spend your penultimate day directly at the resort. Explore another part of the vast grounds, walk around the mangroves, return to your favorite beach, or book a wellness treatment. Constance Ephelia is so extensive that you can easily spend several days here without having to move around Mahé by car.
If you prefer a more active program, you can book a taxi trip or rent a car if you don’t mind driving on the left.

Day 12: Rent a Car and Go on a Trip Around Mahé
If you’re in the Seychelles for the first time, I recommend setting aside at least one to two days for trips around the island. If you head out early in the morning after breakfast, you’ll manage to see many interesting places and beaches in a full day. I personally recommend visiting the local Takamaka rum distillery for a Seychelles souvenir, as well as the wild beaches in the southwest of the island, or for example the beach at the Four Seasons resort in the Baie Lazare area.

Day 13: Last Morning and Departure from Mahé
Adjust the last day of our independent Seychelles itinerary to your departure time. With an evening flight, you can still spend the morning on the beach, have breakfast at the hotel, and leave your luggage at reception after checking out. The journey from Constance Ephelia to the international airport took about 45 minutes by car, but leave a sufficient buffer due to traffic and check-in.
> I really recommend that the end of your vacation be on Mahé, as it is more practical than traveling to the main island by ferry on the day of your international flight. Any delays or cancellations in boat transport won’t jeopardize your departure.
How Much 13 Days in the Seychelles Can Cost / Seychelles Itinerary
The following budget is based on our specific trip for two people. All amounts are calculated per traveler to make it easy for you to calculate if you’re traveling with more friends or a larger family. For accommodation, they represent half the price of a shared room or apartment. This is not a current price offer, and prices for flights, ferries, and hotels can vary significantly at other times. Prices are based on a specific trip in 2025:
| Item | Price per person |
|---|---|
| Return flight Frankfurt – Mahé | 655 € |
| Chez Mera Self Catering, 4 nights no meals | 245 € |
| Les Lauriers Eco Hotel, 4 nights with half board | 795 € |
| Constance Ephelia, 4 nights with half board | 960 € |
| Ferries between islands | 135 € |
| Taxi and car rental | 240 € |
| Buses on Praslin | 5 € |
| Bike rental on La Digue | 24 € |
| Food outside half board | 200 € |
| Total | 3,259 € |
The amount for food included several extra meals during the stay on Mahé and Praslin and meals for four days on La Digue. Take into account that I eat gluten-free, so I can’t go for a burger or fried chicken strips. Fish with rice is ideal for me, for which we pay a bit more than if I ate without dietary restrictions. Thanks to half board at Les Lauriers and Constance Ephelia, it wasn’t necessary to pay for breakfast and dinner separately every day, and there was always something to choose from that was gluten-free.
Is it Worth Choosing the Order La Digue – Praslin – Mahé? Seychelles Itinerary
This order is especially suitable for those travelers who want to end their vacation comfortably and without the stress of ferry connections to their international flight. La Digue offers a relaxed island atmosphere and cycling, Praslin offers natural attractions and boat trips, and Mahé offers a comfortable conclusion, for example at a resort near Port Launay.
During the 12 days, you will alternate between an affordable apartment without meals, a smaller eco-focused hotel with half board, and a luxury beach resort. Those of you who have been following me for a long time know that we like combining different types of accommodation. It allows us to get to know the Seychelles from different sides while keeping the overall budget under better control.
If you are flying to the Seychelles for the umpteenth time, you can also add other island resorts to your itinerary, or a cheaper option in the form of a stay on Cerf Island:
